Dear Friends and Customers

On the 2nd of November 2015, Helena, the creator of Blighty Blooms left us for a better place after a long battle with cancer.
She was a wonderful and talented woman, who put her absolute all into this business over the last four years, and it's testament to her strength, talent and constant optimism that she grew to be so successful and popular, making so many friends with market colleagues, customers and suppliers.

In the absence of her impeccable taste and skill for making old tweed beautiful and new, we are unable to continue the business, but we would like to thank everyone who supported her, by buying her cushions, carrying her gazebo, talking about sheep and everything else in-between.

At this time we are unable to sell on any pre-made cushions and definitley won't be able to before Christmas, but as soon as we have taken stock we will get in touch with those who have enquired and announce it here.

We have set up a charity page for Kidney Research UK in Helena's honour, and in lieu of flowers or other tributes we would be grateful for any support you could give to them: www.justgiving.com/helena-rafalowska

Her funeral will be held at 1pm, Wednesday 2nd December at the Honor Oak Crematorium.

Thank you again,

Helena’s Family.

**************************************************

I make hand crafted home and fashion accessories in British wool, tweed and other natural, vintage and recycled materials.

I started out by making corsages (little retro woolly brooches) in British wool,  hence the name Blighty Blooms.  I soon expanded to produce hair accessories, tea cosies, hot water bottle covers and, most recently, cushions.

I trade regularly at Richmond Duck Pond craft market on Sundays and at other one off or ad hoc markets across London (see the Diary section for details).  I don't yet sell online as everything I make is a one-off.  I do, however, accept commissions to make, for example, a cushion in your choice of size, colour and material.

Please have a look at this website and come and visit me at one of my markets.

Thank you for your interest
